Like many of the other types of slipper (a slipper is a slipper right?), many of you maybe asking “what is a scuff slipper?”. Scuff slipper is the name given to any type of slipper that is completely backless, specifically made for chilling out at home.

Scuff slippers can easily be slid on and off the foot, making them so popular.  For the slipper enthusiast (if such people exist?), there are some slippers that almost can be classed as scuffs, but fall short as they have a small lip all the way round the heel.

Scuff slippers can be made from a variety of fabrics and are available for men, women, children and unisex styles. The most common fabrics are suede, cotton, sheepskin, faux fur, fleece, wool, memory foam, cashmere and terry. This can lead to a variety of feels to the slipper ie soft & fluffy, to hard soled varieties that can be worn inside and out.

Scuff slippers can be closed or open toed and are very similar to mules or clogs, although the latter two are generally classed as shoes – clogs generally been made out of wood and mules are backless shoes that feature fancier heels!
